Natural science
education is a crucially important area of a general background. The 21st
century, an era of modern biology (chemistry and physics as well) and
advanced technology, proves that it is extremely difficult to operate
without a broad background in this field.
This book is
intended for the development of modern natural science education. The goal
of this edition is to bring together and present the experience of natural
science education in Lithuania and to introduce the author‘s research in the
field. The author finds the international context relevant, and for this
reason, the book at least tries to marginally reflect the experience of
foreign countries. Widely known politic, ideological, etc. reasons were the
main barrier for Lithuania to be recognized as it was largely isolated from
the outside world for a long time. The humanities and social sciences were
under the influence of oblivion. The author expects that the international
academic community will approvingly and liberally approach this book. The
author also believes that for most of the readers the book will push new
ideas and encourage their further exploration. Moreover, it will be a very
useful source of knowledge for graduates and postgraduates. If this happens,
the author will feel rewarded for his arduous work.
The study covers the relevant methodological, empiric,
practic, etc. isuues of natural science education based on the data of
research carried out by the Lithuanian and foreign scientists as well as by
the author himself. The publication is an educational book that could be
found useful for students, graduates, postgraduates, teachers and for
everyone who is interested in natural science education.
